General Description
Carolina Beach State Park consists of 761 acres that lie along Snows Cut and the Cape Fear River. Thirteen distinct natural communities in the park make this one of the most diverse sites in the North Carolina state park system. Six miles of trails wind through a variety of these habitats.

The park offers a variety of recreational opportunities. A marina with two launching ramps and boat slips are located in the park at the junction of Snows Cut and the Cape Fear River. Visitors may fish from the riverbank or the wheelchair-accessible fishing deck. The family campground is located in a wooded area near Snows Cut. The picnic area is also located near Snows Cut between the campground and marina. Tables and grills are located under the shade of large oak trees.

Rangers hold regularly scheduled educational and interpretive programs. The parks visitors center features environmental education exhibits.
