General Description
    Assateague State Park is composed of 850 acres of barrier island coastline, sand dune, salt marsh, patches of maritime forest and mainland. It is Maryland\\''s most visited park and the only Maryland state park on the ocean. The park has two miles of beautiful beaches and 350 campsites. Assateague is home to wild ponies as well as heards of Whitetail and Sika deer.
