Description
The Mobility Program is designed for people who are living with a permanent disability to help keep their body as healthy as possible and to also help to maintain independence through the years. Mobility sessions are designed to meet each individuals unique needs to reach their specific goals and to help improve and/or maintain the ability to be independent. Services focus on improving range of motion, increasing strength, improving balance and stability, and improving the overall physical health of the individual. These services include but are not limited to; Water Mobility Sessions, Land Mobility Sessions, In-Home Mobility Sessions, and Staff/Caregiver training sessions. The purpose of these programs is to keep as much functional use of the body as possible for every person that participates; no matter what physical limitations they are currently living with. These programs are here to provide services to those who do not require and/or those who no longer need physical therapy. Individuals that are post- physical therapy and still struggle with limitations are potential candidates for this program, as well as individuals born with a disability that physical therapy is unable to work with as a result of insurance limitations or lack of improvement due to a chronic condition instead of an acute situation.
