• The mission of the Missouri state park system is to preserve and interpret the state's most outstanding natural landscapes and cultural landmarks, and to provide outdoor recreational opportunities.

To ensure that the state park system can be used and enjoyed by everyone, a major effort was undertaken to make facilities, activities and programs accessible to all persons, regardless of abilities. Facilities such as campgrounds, showerhouses, picnic areas, fishing docks and other areas have been renovated to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
