Blazing Saddles, Inc. was founded in the fall of 1985 and is a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA). NARHA provides resources and standards of education, accreditation, certification and safety for therapeutic riding programs throughout the USA and Canada.

After 16 years of generous donations from many area individuals of various facilties, necessitating moves to new locations every couple years, in 2002 Blazing Saddles was offered a permanent home located at the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show Grounds, Blowing Rock, NC, home of the oldest charity horse show in the US. Blowing Rock Stables is located off Hwy 221S.
