Description
  • The PGA of America is the largest working sports organization in the world, comprised of more than 28,000 dedicated men and women promoting the game of golf to everyone, everywhere.

Founded in 1916, The PGA of America conducts four premier golf events: the Ryder Cup Matches, The PGA Championship, the Senior PGA Championship and the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, which brings together the winners of golf's four major championships.

As part of its mission to make golf accessible, The PGA of America operates the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida, approximately 40 miles north of PGA Headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The PGA Golf Club is home to the PGA Learning Center and three distinctly different 18-hole courses. The PGA of America conducts numerous programs to promote the game to people of all ages and skill levels.

The PGA of America also works closely with organizations such as the national Police Athletic League and the National Collegiate Athletic Association to help bring the game to many inner-city youths. Through its grass-roots network of PGA Professionals, programs such as Kids on Course, Golf in Schools and First Swing are exposed to more than 500,000 youngsters each year.

PGA Professionals, who are expert instructors, skilled business persons and community leaders, are the backbone of the PGA of America, working among the nation's more than 25 million golfers to help make golf a better game.
