  • Services and Programs of Easter Seals Missouri

    Adult Services
    • Adult Day Services - A day program for adults with functional and/or cognitive impairments. Our structured, comprehensive program provides a variety of health, social and support services in a protective setting for both seniors and adults over 21 with disabilities. Easter Seals Adult Day Services is an alternative to nursing home care and allows an adult to remain living at home.
    • Day Habilitation - Day habilitation services provide individualized assistance for adults who wish to acquire and maintain life skills that enable them to become and remain productive members of their community. Services correspond with each individual's strengths and include assistance with acquisition, retention and improvement of self-help, socialization, adaptive skills and other skills that foster a greater level of independence.
    Individual and Family Supports
    • Camp Friday and Camp Saturday- Our monthly camps offer fun activities for the kids and a break, or respite, for their caregiver. These 2 - 3 hour camps are available on Friday nights or Saturday mornings. Respite care is an essential part of the overall support that families may need to keep their loved one with a disability at home.
    • Educational Day Program - Through Easter Seals educational day program, pre-teens and teenagers engage in structured educational and leisure activities. This program is offered when schools are closed and helps participants achieve personal goals.
    • Extended Day Program - An after school, work or day program for individuals with disabilities. A great option for families who work and need a safe and enriching environment for their family member.
    • In-Home Supports - With the in-home option, support services are delivered in the home of the family and the family selects their own care provider. The program helps individuals achieve greater independence and enhances the quality of family life.
    • Residential Supports at Easter Seals Lodge - Our fully staffed, three-bedroom home in South St. Louis city provides individual supports and temporary respite care for children and adults with disabilities. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 363 days a year.
    Children Services
    • Child Development Centers - Our licensed and accredited early care and education centers offer a unique environment where young children of all abilities learn together. Easter Seals child development centers integrate early education, active learning and nurturing relationships.
    • Kids are Riding Safely (KARS) - Our specialized car seat loan program ensures infants and older children with disabilities ride in vehicles safely.
    • Lekotek/Toy Lending Library - Families learn fun, creative and healthy ways to play together and to include their children into family and community activities. Children borrow adapted and traditional toys, books and software from our toy lending libraries for use at home.
    • Early Intervention Program - Specialists in early education help young children with special needs and their parents get the best start possible in learning.
    • Speech/Language, Physical and Occupational Therapies - Assessment and therapy services are provided at Childgarden Child Development Center, the child's home or other community-based setting.
    Camping and Recreation
    • Camp Free To Be - A summer day camp that provides quality camp experiences for children of all abilities. Participants learn new and exciting leisure interests.
    • The L.E.A.P. Project - The Leisure Education And Participation Project enhances leisure and recreation opportunities for St. Louis city students with a special needs. This program is funded through a United States Department of Education grant.
    • FOCUS (Fighting to Overcome Challenges & Understanding Strengths) Adaptive Martial Arts - This is a program designed for individuals 8 and up with special needs. Participants have fun while improving balance, coordination, flexibility and stamina.
