Description
  • The Mountain States Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (MSCPVA) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of veterans with spinal cord impairments (SCI) by ensuring quality health care, promoting research and advocating for civil rights. MSCPVA has members in Colorado, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming. These members take an active role in the legislative network advocating for the rights of people with disabilities. Members participate in a variety of chapter-sponsored activities including the National Wheelchair Veterans Games and other events.

    Sports and Recreation

Sports and recreation improves lives. Moreover, sport and recreation transcend the traditional understanding of disability from helpless to hopeful, from dire to possible, from sadness to enjoyment. Participating in a sport helps a person physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally. For people with disabilities, sports have benefits not only during rehabilitation but throughout life. PVA's sports and recreation program promotes a range of activities, with special emphasis on those activities that enhance lifetime health and fitness.
