Whitten Center is a public ICF/MR providing a full range of services to approximately 250 individuals with severe cognitive and physical disabilities. It has a staff of 625 and a budget of approximately $26 million. Whitten Center has a favorable track record of regulatory compliance. Whitten Center is one of four public ICFs/MR operated by the SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN). DDSN serves more than 30,000 South Carolinians with mental retardation, related disabilities, autism, spinal cord injuries or head injuries.

The Facility Administrator serves as the chief executive officer of Whitten Center and is responsible for providing overall programmatic and administrative direction for the Center. The Facility Administrator is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of all programs and services for the individuals who reside at the Center. The Facility Administrator is also a key member of DDSNs leadership team and as such plays a crucial role in assuring that the service system is effectively and efficiently meeting the needs of individuals with disabilities.

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for employment applicants must, at a minimum, possess a Master\'s degree from an accredited college/university and six (6) years of progressively responsible professional-level administrative/management experience in a human services delivery system; or a Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited college/university and eight (8) years of such experience.
