The Endowed Chair/ Director of Research will be responsible for research and research leadership in applied rehabilitation science and with a special emphasis on the effects of exercise and physical activity on persons with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions. Research will include the evaluation of existing program effects, the development and evaluation of new programmatic and service efforts, the validation of new supportive technologies and coordinating the efforts of other researchers in their attempts to identify and/or develop meaningful interventions that improve life for people who have or will face chronic disabling conditions. The goal of Lakeshore and UAB is to jointly develop the highest possible caliber research program in rehabilitative science, which will evaluate Lakeshore�s program effectiveness as well as identify, develop, validate and apply new services and technologies that have a positive impact on the lives of people with physical disabilities and chronic health conditions.
