A search is underway to find a Director for The Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) Needs Council of Tarrant County. The position will be responsible for managing the activities and initiatives of The Council. This includes providing the leadership necessary to coordinate a county wide coalition of agencies and individuals toward a mission of bringing stakeholders together to create an environment for the development of an efficient and accessible system of support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The Council strives toward a unified, coordinated, focused and more effective community, identification of community problems & recommendation of solutions that encompass The Council's vision, increase public understanding & acceptance of children & adults with IDD, & promote opportunities for people with IDD to participate fully in the community.

Applicants must have a Master's Degree with seven years experience in disabilities or human services with at least two years in a supervisory or management role. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc of GTC will act as the Administrator for The Council and the Director will be hired by The Arc. Specific duties will be outlined by the Council's Executive Committee and the Director will make regular reports to the Executive Committee as determined by them.
