With our newly opened 100,000 sq. ft. student recreation center, Portland State University is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for its Coordinator of Adaptive Recreation and Community Service. Known as a leader in community engagement and sustainability, Portland State enrolls over 28,000 students with approximately 1800 students living in on-campus housing.

The Adaptive Recreation and Community Service Coordinator will assist in the overall organization and administration of the Campus Rec Department. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Programs in Campus Rec and collaborates with other staff members of Campus Rec, especially the Program Coordinators and Trades Person. The Coordinator will provide leadership, vision, and strong strategic direction/supervision for our new Adaptive Recreation Program including adapting existing activities and services to provide access for all rec center members, providing direct one on one service to individuals with disabilities and creating new activities and programs. This person will also coordinate a minimum of four annual department-wide community service events. The Adaptive Recreation and Community Service Coordinator will also serve as an active member of Student Affairs and the Portland State Community, serving on committees and attending events.
