• This YWCA provides space for several organizations for special populations to swim. The city of Wilmington Special Olympics, Brunswick Community College Special Adult Populations, and Shallotte Middle School and Hoggard High School have special needs classes who train at the YWCA. This particular YWCA also has a sliding fee scale for people with disabilities.

The building is ADA Accessible including the Locker Rooms, Shower Facilities, Parking Area, Front Desk Area, Ramps, and Swimming Pool. Staff has training in Physical Education or Exercise Science with some coursework in disability, and Multiple Sclerosis Water Aerobics Certification.
