Abstract by: Maria Londos

Marshall, D., McConkey, R., & Moore, G. (2003). Obesity in people with intellectual disabilities: The impact of nurse-led health screenings and health promotion activities. Journal of Advanced Nursing, 41(2), 147-153.

Two studies are discussed: Study 1 was designed to follow up on people with intellectual disabilities who were identified as having a weight problem during a comprehensive health screening, to determine what actions were taken. Study 2 was designed to investigate the impact of health promotion classes for this client group in relation to weight reduction.
