Participants


The authors chose the participants on the basis of having one of the following conditions: multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, arthritis, post-polio syndrome, stroke, spina bifida, Parkinson's disease, or brain injury. The participants were from a community exercise support group, and a control group was made up of individuals in a non-exercising support group.
