Why do you need protein?
- To keep your skin, muscles, and organs healthy
- To heal wounds by creating new skin and muscles
- Protein can also be used as energy
- Provides special nutrients (essential amino acids) that our body needs to stay healthy but can only get through certain foods
Where are proteins found?
Dietary protein is found in plant and animal sources. Animal proteins include dairy products, eggs, and meats like beef, fish, and chicken. Plant proteins include nuts, seeds, soy products and beans.
