Research Design
The study used a randomized clinical trial design. Subjects were randomized into two groups of participants and controls. Participants attended a series of six four-hour workshop sessions over a three-month period. Participants and controls underwent clinical assessments at three points: baseline, two weeks after completion of the workshop series, and at the four-month follow-up time point. In addition to clinical tests, all subjects completed Home Survey questionnaires comprised of a number of standardized measures/questionnaires used to assess improvement across outcomes. All subjects, prior to each of the clinical data collection sessions, completed these Home Survey instruments.
