Updates and Upcoming Events

At NCHPAD, we are always thrilled by all of the promises and possibilities represented by the New Year.  At this point in January, you’ve undoubtedly heard, read, seen, and been otherwise overloaded with New Years-related messages and recommendations.  And we know that, while it may be easy to stick with a resolution for the first few weeks of the year, it is just as easy to break it by February.

So this month, instead of simply offering ideas for additional resolutions, we hope to use the newsletter and our Habit for Health 21 campaign to help you learn to stick with those resolutions that really matter and turn them into lasting healthy habits.  Some of our favorites around the office include drinking lots of water and snacking on fruits and nuts (aka, avoiding the vending machine), walking or rolling around our campus or track, spending one or two lunch breaks each week in the fitness center, and doing the occasional set of chair dips.

So as we kick off 2013 and #habit4health21, we hope we can help you adopt and stick with some of these habits.  We also know you probably already have hundreds of healthy tips and activities that are already part of your daily lives, and we would love to hear about and pass them on to the rest of our audience, too.  So throughout the month, please share them via the Twitter hashtag #habit4health21 or on our Facebook wall.  If you need help finding or sticking with a health habit beyond what we offer in this newsletter, feel free to call us at 1-800-900-8086, email us at email@ncpad.org, or talk to one of our Information Specialists via the chat option on our website (www.nchpad.org).
