Font Size:

California

Lead Organization:  YMCA of San Joaquin County

Contact:  Isela Robles, Program Director, YMCA of San Joaquin County, irobles@ymcasjc.org

Partners and Collaborators Include: San Joaquin Public Health Services, Valley Mountain Regional Center, school districts, recreation sports programs

San Joaquin County features two inclusive health coalitions in the cities of Stockton and Tracy, both working to serve as hubs of inclusive resources in their communities. The IHCs are working together and with the local United Way 2-1-1 program to direct people with disabilities to inclusive and accessible programs and services within the community using the 2-1-1 resources at their disposal. The YMCA will be hosting a 2-1-1 link on its website to help broaden the reach and promotion of services offered and to ensure those in need are aware of its existence and benefits. Additionally, the IHCs are creating and leading a committee of local experts and resources to ensure that San Joaquin's 2015 Healthy Kids Day events are inclusive, and using these events as an opportunity for community outreach in the form of education and training on inclusive youth programming.
