This month US Surgeon General VADM Dr. Vivek Murthy released “Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation: The U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory on the Healing Effects of Social Connection and Community.”  The Advisory details the cost of social isolation to health and the benefits of social connection.  In conjunction with Advisory, the Office of the Surgeon General released an entire web page of resources aimed at helping Americans combat loneliness and isolation.  The page includes “Social Connection Fact Cards,” data and infographics, as well as tips and strategies that individuals, public health professionals, schools and other key stakeholders like tech companies can employ.
