Troy Kotsur was the second actor with a sensory disability to win the Oscar. Marleen Matlin was the first woman and actor to win this award. “Congratulations to the disability community,” was Kotsur’s statement when accepting this award. His speech was delivered in sign language. The movie he appeared in “CODA,” also won the Academy Award for best picture.
