An Inclusive Team Showing that People with Disabilities Can and Do Lead Active Lifestyles
The Breast Cancer 3-Day is an amazing 60-mile journey that brings together thousands of women and men of all backgrounds, shapes and sizes and gives them a common purpose-to end breast cancer forever. From August 7-9, 2009, a group of participants both with and without physical disabilities become the heroes of Team All Abilities, walking and wheeling their way to a place in Breast Cancer 3-Day history. For the second year in a row, the Breast Cancer 3-Day hosted a full-accessibility program in the Chicagoland area. This full-accessibility program ensures that all aspects of the route and camp are safe and accessible to participants with mobility disabilities and, in addition to hosting the All Abilities team again in the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day, members from the original 2008 Team have branched out individually and joined the 3-Day in other event cities like Boston and Tampa Bay.
