Notes

Camp features alternative, high-adventure, camping experiences for children ages 13-23, with a variety of abilities. An accessible houseboat and beach-front, offer gorgeous views of the impressive canyons of lake Powell in the Glen Canyon National recreation Area. The park is not very accessible due to the rough terrain, but Easter Seals Arizona has a solution for that...nine-hundred square feet of port-a-floor, laid out sidewalk style across the beach to make everything accessible from sleeping in a tent under the stars, to sitting around the beach-front campfire, or finding the perfect fishing hole. An accessible houseboat with a ramp to the beach puts everyone in the thick of the action. Special adaptations to kayaks, archery equipment and eater toys give everyone a chance to get wet!

Daily activities include environmental awareness presentations from a National Park guide, archery, wave runners, swimming, art & crafts, kayaking, hiking, and fishing. Days are themed, so the craft projects, meals, and dress are tailored to accommodate each theme. This past year some of the themed days included: Arizona sports teams, Native American Day, and Hawaiian Day.
