The TAMU Indoor Climbing Facility was one of the first free standing climbing walls located on a college or university campus in the country. Constructed by Radwall in 1995, the Climbing Wall has 3500 sq. ft. of climbing space and is 44 ft. tall at its tallest point. Toprope climbing, bouldering and lead climbing are offered to climbers who have passed a skills check and are qualified for the activity. In addition, our experienced and knowledgeable student staff teach a variety of clinics and classes to enrich your climbing experiences.
Climbing is a dynamic sport that offers something for everyone of any ability level. If you can climb a ladder, you can rock climb. Our ever-changing array of climbing routes range from beginner to expert level. Our student staff members change routes on a monthly basis to keep your experience at the climbing wall fresh.
The climbing wall is open for general climbing by registered climbers 7 days a week, year round. Hours of operation for the facility fluctuate, but updated hours can be found here.
The climbing wall is available for group usage by TAMU affiliated as well as non-affiliated groups.
Also offered is the Project Sunshine Group Climbing for children and youth with disabilities, ages 8 through 18 years.
