Notes

The MedLinks exercise program offers individuals with special medical needs the opportunity to participate in an individualized, closely supervised exercise program. The program serves as the "next step" in the natural progression from skilled medical treatment to safe, independent exercise for those recovering from a variety of illnesses or injuries not related to a metabolic condition. Members of the fitness staff at HealthLinks, who regularly consult with participants' referring medical professionals regarding their care, supervise the program. To participate in this program, each individual:

  • Must present with a specific medical diagnosis, clearly indicated by written referral from a medical professional.
  • Must have specific functional goals, to be achieved through program participation, stated on the program referral form (goals must be related to medical diagnosis).
  • Will be discharged from the program based on 1) the achievement of his/her preset goals, 2) a clear understanding of his/her exercise program, including both safe exercise progression and specific exercise limitations related to the stated medical diagnosis.
