Notes

CCSA, a chapter of Disabled Sports/USA, is an organization promoting lifetime sport and recreation for persons with disabilities. Focusing primarily on downhill skiing, the CCSA instructs people with physical, mental, and sensory impairments. Accessing the unique abilities of each skier, we foster a self-confidence, which often carries over into other aspects of life. Our program is designed to help people expand their horizons, master new skills, make new friends, and increase motor coordination.

Each year, Cannonsburg Challenged Ski Association (CCSA) provides lessons and the use of adaptive downhill ski equipment to people with disabilites in West Michigan. We are a non-profit corporation, a chapter of Disabled Sports USA, and completely staffed by unpaid volunteers. CCSA offers a 7-lesson, weekly ski program. Participants are matched with a volunteer instructor who has been specifically trained in ski instruction for the participant's disability. The program begins in early January and concludes in February. CCSA volunteers provide support, guidance and on-hill expertise.
