The mission of Cloud Dancers of the Southwest, a non-profit corporation, is to provide recreation in the form of horseback riding to individuals with disabilities focused on each individual's goals and abilities in a manner which is safe, effective, and fun.
Cloud Dancers, founded in 1982, is an Affiliate Center Member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) and employs certified riding instructors who focus on our riders' abilities. While many of our riders have very involved physical and developmental challenges, they have learned that, through the things they learn during their lessons, they can overcome many of the barriers they experience in their everyday lives. Some of our riders' disabilities include developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, hearing impairment, Down Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, blindness, autism spectrum, stroke complications, and amputations.
