Notes

Helping Hooves Therapeutic Riding, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit, therapeutic and recreational equestrian program for children with life-threatening illnesses and emotional or behavioral challenges. Riders come from Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, Licking and Pickaway counties to participate in the weekly program. While at Helping Hooves, riders learn all aspects of horsemanship, from riding to stable management.

Helping Hooves was founded in 1999 by Gretchen Crites on a scenic 40 acres in Lancaster. We hold three riding and horse management sessions in spring, summer and fall. Each session this is 10 weeks. Each student recieves 13 1/2 hours per session. During the winter months, we host our Winter Kid's Days Program.
