LoveWay, Inc. serves people with disabilities through therapeutic equine related programs. Our primary focus is therapeutic horseback riding in small group classes. Serving hundreds of students annually, LoveWay, Inc. is one of the oldest of over seven hundred therapeutic riding centers across the nation. LoveWay, Inc. is a Premier Accredited Center of NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association.)
LoveWay's student population includes persons with Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, emotional disabilities, hearing / visual impairment and many others. Students range in age from 3 to 65 years old and come from Elkhart County Elementary schools, pre-schools, agencies, referrals from physical and occupational therapists and requests from parents.
In the riding program, children and adults are given the opportunity for mobility they may not have otherwise. While the student learns basic riding skills, the horse is led by one person and two others walk beside the rider for safety and stability. Some students will eventually ride independently, unaided by side walkers or leaders.
LoveWay serves special elementary education school students from all over Elkhart County including Elkhart, Goshen, Waterford, Bristol, Wakarusa & Middlebury. Schools transport children on buses and all services to schools are provided free of charge.
