Notes

Orlando Regional Rehabilitation Services, in cooperation with the City of Orlando, is pleased to offer the community a unique and specialized aquatic therapy program. Programs are designed for physical therapy patients, as well as individuals seeking to enhance their general fitness level.

Aquatic Rehabilitation is exercise, or movement, performed in a heated pool of water (85-89 degrees Fahrenheit). A licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who are trained in aquatic therapy gives instruction.

Aquatic Fitness

This program is geared to the fitness enthusiast or the "weekend warrior." Fitness and sports enhancement is the goal of this program. This program promotes conditioning and abdominal stabilization exercise, which enhances fitness and sports performance. Group fitness classes focus on aquatic conditioning and general strengthening for improved health.

A physician referral is required to participate in the aquatic rehabilitation program for insurance coverage. Each participant will undergo a formal evaluation by a licensed physical therapist. A treatment plan of care will be designed and carried out by a licensed clinician. A prescription is not needed from a physician to participate in the fitness and conditioning program. Fees are the responsibility of the individual. Sessions vary between 30-45 minutes and run approximately 4 weeks.
