Notes

Sertoma Camp Endeavor is a Non-profit summer camp that provides a highly motivating educational program in a recreational setting for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Ages 7-17.We can accommodate 64 children and 30 counselors per week in three cabins and an air conditioned 8000 square foot cafetorium building in a wooded setting in Dundee, Florida. Our program is unique in that it integrates deaf children with deaf counselors who are successful in their adult colleges or work day lives. Many campers who are deaf or hard-of-hearing have never associated with someone who shares their special need, and who is an independent and successful adult who can demonstrate this independence to the camper. At Sertoma Camp Endeavor hearing impaired camp counselors comprise approximately 70% of camp staff and serve as positive role models for the campers. Additionally we are a training program for future educators from colleges across the country such as Gallaudet University, Washington DC, Western Maryland College,Lenior-Rhyne College, Hickory N.C. and others
