Notes

Equine Partners Offering New Awareness (E.P.O.N.A.), Inc. is a nonprofit service organization that provides equine-assisted psychotherapy services and experiential learning programs to individuals, families, and groups.

E.P.O.N.A. uses horses as a learning tool to teach and counsel children and adults in behavioral change and cognitive insight with the goal of improving their functioning in the family, workplace and community.

The E.P.O.N.A. arena is located on the grounds of Tidwell Social Work Services and Consulting in a quiet, country-like setting in Northwest Boise, near the Foothills. Six horses comprise the therapy horse herd.

Clinical and equine specialists are certified by EAGALA, the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. The purpose of EAGALA is to promote, educate, and provide standards of practice, ethics, and safety in the emerging field of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy.
