The Sunshine League
The Henry County Parks & Recreation Department is proud to be able to provide all children with an opportunity to play baseball regardless of any disability through the Sunshine League. As a baseball league especially for boys and girls (ages 5�18) with physical and intellectual disabilities, the Sunshine League enables these youth to enjoy the full benefits of organized sports in their community. Though participants do learn the skills of baseball, the true value of this program lies in the proven therapeutics and socialization benefits of participating in sports, the strengthening of participants� self-esteem, the opportunities to participate in mainstream activities, and the disciplines of teamwork and good sportsmanship.
