Description
The National MS Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward. Yesyou can be healthy even if you do have MS. Wellness is a dynamic state of physical, emotional, spiritual and social well-being that can be achieved even in the presence of a chronic illness or disability. For a person living with MS, the road to wellness involves more than treatment of the disease. Equally important are health promotion and prevention strategies, satisfying personal relationships, a strong support network, fulfilling work and leisure activities, a meaningful place in the community and adequate attention to one\\\'s inner self. Explore the resources available through the Greater Illinois Chapter and collaborating organizations to help you support a life of wellness, which optimizes your general health. Individuals may apply for program scholarships through the chapters financial assistance program, too.
