In addition, a full one-day Consumer Programme for people living with disabilities and professionals involved in their lives will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2007 at the Congress venue.

The one-day consumer programme will consist of inspirational fact-filled presentations on the physical, psychological, social and technical aspects of living life to the fullest despite musculoskeletal and /or mobility limitations.

Topics of interest for people with disabilities and disability groups include Psychosocial Adaptation for People with Disabilities, Peer Visitor Training and Self-Advocacy while those reaching for a healthier lifestyle can find information on Biomechanics of Amputee Sports and Running, Tennis, and Accessibility at home and on the road!

Presenters are experts in the field of consumer advocacy, orthopedics, psychology, sports recreation, fitness, prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation with emphasis on consumer resources and advocacy in prosthetic and orthotic care including wheeled mobility.
