The Department of Nutrition & Exercise Sciences in the College of Health & Human Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU) invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month, full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position with responsibilities teaching undergraduate and graduate courses related to Movement Studies in Disability (MSD)/Adapted Physical Activity; establishing an independent and funded research program; advising graduate students; serving on departmental, college, and University committees; and providing professional and community service.

The successful candidate will join the Movement Studies in Disability program at OSU, which is a national leader in adapted physical activity, with over 20 years of continuous extramural funding for graduate training and research. The new faculty member has the potential for collaboration with the College�s two research centers: the Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children & Families and the Center for Healthy Aging Research.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS � The position requires a PhD in Exercise Science or a related field with emphasis in promoting physical activity in persons with disabilities across the lifespan. Preference will be given to candidates with a research focus that is complementary to the research programs of existing faculty in the areas of physical activity promotion, obesity prevention, healthy children, healthy aging, school and community-based interventions or epidemiology. Candidates must communicate how their research focus contributes to public health in vulnerable populations. Applicants must have PhD by the start date of the appointment. To be considered: 1) at the level of Assistant Professor: the clear potential for scholarship, or 2) at the level of Associate Professor: a record of scholarship and extramural funding. Other qualifications include a successful record of research publication and funding, successful prior university teaching, and a commitment to creating a compelling learning experience in undergraduate and graduate education. Preference will be given to those with a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
