The Foundation focuses funding on organizations that provide opportunities for youth participation in the following areas: youth athletic programs, i.e., community-based programs addressing active lifestyle and team building skills; and established camps with an emphasis on sports and active lifestyle, especially programs serving disadvantaged and special needs kids. The foundation is particularly interested in: organizations providing opportunities for participation for children and young adults age 18 and under; organizations whose activities provide direct services to individuals and produce tangible results, rather than those that are policy oriented; the potential impact of the program/project and the number of people who will benefit; and programs operating near Finish Line stores. Awards: Generally speaking, grants range from $1,000-$5,000. Founder's Grants (Emergency Funds Grants) of $5,000-$25,000 will be awarded to qualifying organizations that have an emergency need that would somehow be keeping the organization from providing current services. Examples would be natural disasters or other unforeseen circumstances that require special funding to help build or develop facilities or equipment needs. Legacy Grants of $10,000-$75,000 will be awarded to qualifying organizations in need of improvements and/or renovations to existing buildings, grounds, and property or for new facilities and/or grounds. Region: Neighborhood stores include any Finish Line stores within 25 miles of organization; area stores include any Finish Line stores within 50 miles of organization; regional stores include any Finish Line stores within 100 miles of organization.
