Purpose
Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a disorder of chromosome 15. It is a known syndrome of hypotonia (decreased muscle tone), hypogonadism (decrease of pituitary hormones), intellectual disability, and obesity. Obesity is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality in people with PWS. Both a growth hormone deficiency and inactivity are linked to obesity. The purpose of this study was to determine if physical activity and growth hormone treatment would have inverse relations with adiposity or fat.
