Nutrition Facts Labels

One of the easiest ways to track how many carbohydrates (carbs) you eat and drink is to learn how to count carbs. A good rule of thumb when following this reduced-carb diet is to make sure you consume no more than 30 grams of carbs at each meal (3 meals each day).

LOOK for how much is a serving size

LOOK for how many servings there are per container

REMEMBER how many servings you actually ate or drank

LOOK for 'Total Carbohydrates'

If you consumed more than 1 serving, add together the ‘Total Carbohydrates` from each serving

WRITE down the number of carb grams you eat and drink during each meal and snack in your food journal

FOR EXAMPLE:

I ate 2 cups of this food item for lunch. To figure out how many carbs I have had, I add the total carbohydrates together twice: 31 + 31 is 62 total carbohydrates for the two servings I ate. Then I write down 62 grams in my food journal.
