American Camping Association (ACA)
The American Camping Association is a community of camp professionals who, for more than ninety years, have joined together to share our knowledge and experience and to ensure the quality of camp programs. Through what we teach, the opportunities we offer, and the example we set, children and adults become part of a safe and sharing camp community.
ACA accreditation is the best evidence of a camp’s commitment to excellence. Accreditation is a voluntary, educational process - providing training, guidelines, programs, and publications for camp director and staff. Courts of law and government regulators recognize ACA standards as THE standards of the camp industry.

Bradford Woods
Bradford Woods is Indiana University’s 2500-acre Outdoor Center. Comprised of three Centers of Excellence: the Camping and Retreats Center, the Environmental Resource Center, and the Challenge Education Center, Bradford Woods seeks to be a global leader in inclusive action learning environments. Running its first camp for children with disabilities beginning in 1955, Bradford Woods Camping Programs are world renown for meeting the recreational and therapeutic needs of children and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Bradford Woods programs and services focus on meeting the individual needs of the campers. We have low staff-to-camper ratios, and high camper engagement and empowerment. Our focus is to promote growth, independence and fun. Over the years, Bradford Woods has partnered with many organizations best known for their commitment to bringing state-of-the-art outdoor opportunities to children of all abilities including the Riley Hospital for Children.

National Center on Accessibility (NCA)
The National Center on Accessibility is a program of Indiana University, in collaboration with the National Park Service. NCA provides technical assistance to park and recreation professionals, consumers with disabilities, parents, teachers and advocates on accessibility guidelines for park and recreation environments, legislative requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, program access, products and application of Universal Design. In addition, NCA provides training programs throughout the United States for park and recreation professionals on making their programs and facilities accessible to individuals with disabilities. NCA’s national research program investigates methods to make recreation environments accessible including the areas of trails, campgrounds, picnic areas, playgrounds, golf, swimming pools and beaches. National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCPAD)
This guide is funded through a grant from the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability. The National Center on Physical Activity and Disability is located within the Department of Disability and Human Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago, which houses the central administration, website, electronic libraries, and telecommunications support. NCPAD is a collaborative effort of the University of Illinois at Chicago in conjunction with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) and the National Center on Accessibility (NCA) at Indiana University. Funding for the Center is provided through a grant from the Division of Human Development and Disability at the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
