From the Editor's Desk: Information to Gather for Activities in Warm Weather!

May is National Physical Fitness and Sports month, and if you are live in an area where the weather has warmed up (or is always warm!), now is an excellent time to explore some outdoor sports and activities for the whole family. If you have children itching for adventure, check out our new NCHPAD Document: Rock Climbing for Children with Disabilities. Parents may also be interested in our online resource "Discover Camp," as well as other featured resources on summer camp for children with disabilities. As for the May flowers from those April showers, this month's newsletter features a number of resources to help those with disabilities enjoy accessible gardening.

A fun and convenient way to engage in activity when the weather is not yet cooperating is through two of our newly featured exercise videos and booklets for stroke survivors and individual with spinal cord injuries. See the Information Specialist's Desk for more details.

And don't forget to sign in at www.ncpad.org for "Ask the Exercise Professional" Chat Session on May 21st from 12:00-2:00 p.m. (CDT). Check out this month's F.I.T.T. column for details.

Send your questions and comments to Blythe Hiss, NCHPAD News Editor, at sbonne2@uic.edu.
