Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) 25th Anniversary
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990. In the days, weeks, and months leading up to that occasion, we will provide information about several events, resources, celebrations and so forth occurring to honor the anniversary. Below are two such examples:
The Impact of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990
The Independent Living Research Utilization (ILRU) program is seeking your opinion and that of others with personal or professional experiences on the impact of the ADA to date. They also want your ideas about what work remains to be done before we reach the ulimate vision of the ADA. Your answers to these questions will be compiled and the information will be delivered to policymakers on the 25th Anniversary of the ADA.
To share your thoughts and views, please complete the online survey here: https://vovici.com/wsb.dll/s/12291g568bd. The survey takes only 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The ILRU program's goal is to have 2,500 surveys completed in 25 days, so please help by completing the survey now! If you have any questions, please email Lex Frieden at lex.frieden@uth.tmc.edu. Thanks so much for your help!
The Most Important Cases Since the ADA was Passed 25 Years Ago
Since the ADA was passed in 1990, a number of significant cases have been decided by the courts that have shaped how the ADA has been interpreted and implemented. To commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the ADA, we will take a look back at the most influential ADA cases by first reviewing the facts and ruling of these cases, and then discussing the broader impact these cases have had. This webinar promises to cover a wide variety of ADA issues under Titles I, II and III.
