The Gateway Special Recreation Association serves the residents of eight local park districts, including; Burr Ridge, Countryside, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Pleasant Dale, Westchester and Willowbrook. Persons who reside within these districts are charged the resident fee and all others are welcome to participate at the non-resident fee.

Gateway programs meet six days a week and are held at the Hanson Center, as well as other park district sites and community recreation facilities. Gateway offers the following programs for children, teen and adults:
  • Special Olympics Bowling
  • Special Olympics Softball
  • Special Olympics Bocce Ball
  • Special Olympics Golf
  • Special Olympics Track & Field
  • Swim Lessons
  • Tennis
  • Various Summer Day Camps
