Camp Friendship is a week long day camp for children with Spina Bifida ages three years old and up. Camp Friendship is a wonderful experience for children with Spina Bifida to be just another "kid at summer camp."
Camp Friendship is usually held the last week of July each year in the New Orleans area. Each child has a counselor to facilitate their day of activities including swimming, crafts, games, theme related guests, entertainment, and a field trip. Older teens and young adults may participate in our new transition program or as counselors. The transition program offers vocational training and options along with post secondary educational preparation as well as self advocacy and independence training. Meals, snacks, and beverages are provided. All of the child's personal needs are cared for through out the day including cathing, diapering, medications, etc.
