Adventure Camp is for youth teens and young adults with moderate disabilities, primarily in association with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, some autism spectrum disorders and genetic syndromes. (Not a match for those whose primary diagnosis is an emotional, behavioural, or psychiatric disorder).Campers develop independence, self esteem and social skills through fun and friendship. Daily adventures including a river raft trip, alpine slide rides, miniature golf, fishing, swimming, hiking/nature walks, wall climbing, singing, and cabin games. Group size is 10 kids, 2 adult staff (one a special education professional or clinical therapist) and 4 teen volunteers (for kids 8-19) who act as peers and role models. Each group stays in a family-style cabin. Teens and young adults are separated by gender at night. I Can Camp is for 8 � 13 year old kids with special needs who are mobile and able to enjoy group living and mountain activities. It is also for typical kids with no special needs. The goal of "I Can" Camp is to provide a sleep-away camp experience that is full of fun, challenge and adventure. Campers learn independence, social skills and build confidence.
