Camp Lighthouse Day Camp enables children to try new experiences while learning to accommodate their vision loss. Activities include instruction in Braille and literacy, science and nature, computers and technology, arts & culture, independent living skills, and fitness and recreation. Campers participate in field trips and recreational activities such as swimming, soccer, and beepball.

Camp Lighthouse Day Camp offers:
  • Activities that enhance each student's skills in independence, helping each student to be able to become more involved within the community and to strive to reach his or her maximum potential.
  • Adventure and challenge in a safe environment where students can build self-esteem and self-confidence.
  • Reinforcement and development of skills and knowledge acquired during the previous school year.
Children ages 6-12 living within the metropolitan Washington, DC area are eligible to participate. There is no enrollment fee and transportation and meals are provided free of charge.
