Notes

The purpose of Upward Bound Camp is to provide on-going Christian based recreational and educational camp experiences for persons with disabilities, twelve years of age and over in an environment that presents opportunities for growth outside the individual’s usual routine or habitat.

Camp is a time for fishing, hiking, tenting, swimming, arts and crafts, archery, Bible study, meeting challenges, fascinating nature explorations, overnights in the great outdoors, cooking over an open fire, field games, basketball, volleyball, laughter, horseshoes, badminton, campfire sing-a-longs, making new friends, refreshing old friendships, sharing faith, growing spiritually and discovery.

Any person may attend summer camp if they have been labeled with the primary special needs label of MR/DD, and are over twelve years of age. (No discrimination is made in regards to race, color, creed, religion, sex or disability). Persons with multiple disabilities or needs that may require one-to-one assistance for toileting, dressing, feeding, or mobility are welcome. There are limited spaces available for these openings. Medical approval is necessary to attend. Campers that do not have independence in their wheelchairs with regard to mobility will be scheduled for four day camps only. Early registration is suggested.
