Cowboy Dreams of Illinois contributes positively to the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of children with special needs by providing a safe, top quality and affordable hippotherapy and therapeutic horseback riding program.
Cowboy Dreams is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization founded in May 1999. Programs are held at Kickapoo Farms in Barrington Hills, and offices are located in Barrington, Illinois, Cowboy Dreams is a Premier Accredited Center for the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).
Cowboy Dreams provides year-round programming for children with special needs. All services are based on an individual service plan providing for short- and long-term goals. Programs include weekly hippotherapy and therapeutic riding sessions, competitive riding events, special day-long riding programs, annual summer camp, and research projects/pilot studies.
Hippotherapy is performed by a specifically trained and licensed our physical therapist, occupational therapist or speech language pathologist who are also certified in hippotherapy by the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA). Cowboy Dreams provides � hour hippotherapy sessions for children on Mondays and Tuesdays.
