Adaptive Class Descriptions:

1.Adaptive Martial Arts:
Fall and Spring Semester
Instructor: Ed Galindo
Through self-understanding and necessity for practical and effective self-defense, learn the art of Jujitsu in a safe atmosphere. Students of all abilities will be encouraged to promote non-voilence and practice problem solving.

2.Adaptive Swimming
Fall and Spring Semesters
Instructor: Matt Ball
Students of all abilities can increase aquatic comfort level in this personally designed fitness class. Focus will be on building endurance and muscular strength along with maximizing flexibility creating a lifetime aerobic interest.

3.Adaptive Weight Training
Fall and Spring Semesters
Instructor: Matt Ball
An individually designed program for all ability levels in basic weight training techniques. Objectives include learning exercise styles, muscle groups, cardiovascular routine, stretching, total body toning and building.

4.Seated Aerobics
Fall and Spring Semesters
Instructor: James Steed
This class is designed for individuals who have a disability or need a lower impact aerobics class. Focus will be on stretching, toning and cardiovascular fitness.

5.Adaptive Water Skiing
Summer, Wednesday 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Instructors: CW HOG instructors and volunteers
Students with disabilities will learn to use adaptive techniques and equiptment to water ski by trained ski instructors and boat drivers. Class takes place at American Falls Reservoir for six consective Wednesday evenings.

6.Adaptive Alpine Skiing
Spring Semester, Thursday 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Instructors: CW HOG instructors and volunteers
Students receive personal instruction from trained instructors for six weeks at Pebble Creek Ski Area. Students of all abilities can progress at their own rate from beginner to advance skier. Adaptive equipment is provided.
