Eligibility: School-age children (grades 1 - 6), with disabilities. Participants must be a resident of Fairfax County, Falls Church City, or Fairfax City.
Program: The four selected sites are designed to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to engage in a variety of recreation activities with peers without disabilities in large group situations. Additional Rec-PAC sites are offered throughout Fairfax County and accommodations are provided; however, the four targeted inclusion sites are the only sites that provide physical support at a 1:8 ratio. All other site ratios are 1:20.*
Activities are based on weekly themes and include: sports, fitness, crafts, board and cooperative games, music and drama activities, and special events. Weekly field trips are also offered throughout the program.
* The ADA coordinator maintains some flexibility to provide limited physical support at other locations.
